(PL or CL) Insurance Account Manager (IAM) (P&C License is Required)
This position works closely with the production team and our carrier partners to evaluate our client’s exposures and utilize our carrier contracts to provide a comprehensive and cost-effective Risk Management solution for our customers and prospects. This process will include interviews with clients/prospects/team members to discern the exposures and develop a plan of coverages or other risk management solutions.
You will interact with prospects/customers by phone, email, and fax or in person to ensure the best service possible. Assist and support Team Members in servicing customer and prospects as needed, including assisting team members to prevent and solve any customer support backlog.
P&C License required for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all tasks relating to Policy/Account maintenance for New and Renewal business, Claims & Billing situations in accordance with Procedures Manual. Prepare account submissions, review quotes, and prepare proposals and submissions and premium allocations for presentation to prospect/client.
- Respond to correspondence, phones calls, emails, faxes within 24 hours. Assist with whatever is necessary to maintain account retention, account rounding and cross-sale between departments.
- Review Policy Declarations & Forms for every policy/endorsement written and cross check coverages issued with coverages requested/proposed.
- Maintain awareness of carrier products, carrier contacts, and rating platforms and or submission guidelines. Demonstrate the ability to seek support to find available markets for client/prospect risks.
- Demonstrate the ability to take the lead on all aspects of the New and Renewal processes as needed. Discussions with clients regarding existing coverages and changes in exposures, to include recommending appropriate solutions to exposures and exposure changes.
- Maintain a professional and effective relationship with clients, co-workers, and other agency partners.
- Interact with others by utilizing effective communication skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidance as needed to achieve the business goals of the agency.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell insurance products and provide account rounding.
- Maintain and strive to improve educational knowledge as required by the State and the Agency and relating to industry changes.
- Maintain accurate database and follow-up system in accordance with agency procedures.
- Assist clients and team members in any coverage questions or clarifications that they need/request.
- Back up colleagues in accordance with agency standards and procedures manual.
- Utilize time management to ensure that customer backlog is at a minimum level and communicate with your manager any assistance needed to reduce or eliminate Backlog.

- Demonstrate the “heart” of a collaborator in day-to-day interactions with staff, clients, and carrier partners.
- Ability to exhibit a team first mentality to assist staff, clients, and carrier partners in tasks necessary to strengthen professional relationships of the individuals and the agency.
- If required for a position, maintain a valid Property & Casualty Insurance license in the State of Virginia (or state of residence), as well as remain in compliance with all insurance regulations and laws. Awareness of protocol for reporting changes to Bureau of Insurance if appropriate.
- Develop and maintain clear lines of communication between staff, clients, carrier partners to ensure that delivery of professional services is consistent.
- Ability to proactively review outstanding tasks and communicate with the appropriate team member if the task cannot be completed due to a training, resource or time issue.
- Develop and maintain high proficiency of Microsoft Products, Insurance software operating systems, and other software necessary for day-to-day functionality.
- Time management: Awareness that interruptions are common and ability to multitask and prioritize tasks and schedule to ensure completion of all duties.
- Ability to identify and develop responses as appropriate to tasks needed in day-to-day operations of the agency and your position.
- Understand and adhere to all Handbooks, procedures, policies and relevant agreements.
- Understand and adhere to all Industry and State Insurance regulations and compliance requirements
- Return all communal areas to clean & presentable condition after use.
- Promote the agency and the insurance industry in the community.
Marketing Manager (PL or CL) (P&C License is Required)
This position must consistently fulfill the responsibilities of the Insurance Account Manager, as well as the additional responsibilities below. This position will work closely with production, team members, and our carrier partners to provide a comprehensive insurance plan for new and existing clients.
P&C License required for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain quotes for new business prospects from multiple carrier partners to provide comprehensive coverage.
- Assist team members with obtaining quotes for renewal business as needed.
- Maintain direct communications with company Marketing Representatives and underwriters, review their underwriting guidelines, carrier appetites, and inform the CL team and production of changes and additions.
- Communicate underwriting and appetite products and changes with commercial lines team members.
- Set up meetings with carrier representatives and attend carrier sales functions.
